New! Monstrous Femme Spring 2024 Issue

Monstrous Femme

We’re a horror magazine created by women and queer people, for women and queer people, about women and queer people. Our goal is to publish fiction and creative nonfiction that pushes boundaries and challenges norms: strange stories and nightmarish narratives that tell the tales of complicated, multi-faceted, occasionally monstrous female and/or LGBTQIA+ people. Here you’ll find creepy, kooky, mysterious and spooky short stories, as well as raw, riveting personal essays that are startlingly frank and fearless. We also offer reviews of horror content, specifically content that features women and/or LGBTQIA+ people, or which has something to say about gender and sexuality—whether it’s a movie, show, book, or video game.

We’re here to be queer, monstrously femme, and witchy and bitchy. Join our writers as they take you on a moonlit, midnight stroll through a haunted mansion. All horror whores are welcome to tag along.

For those who do not know, I have been hired as a staff writer for Monstrous Femme, an eMagazine written for and by female and queer folks! As a nonbinary, asexual individual, I feel that I have found my place as an author in this community, and I am so happy to be in such great company. The eMagazine is released quarterly and features personal essays, articles, reviews, and original works of fiction all focused on horror. The Spring 2024 issue just released TODAY and features my personal essay, “The Importance of Women and LGBTQIA+ Voices in Horror”.

There is also a new piece of fiction entitled “The Witch” by a friend of mine, Lennox Rex.

I hope you will take the time to look through the magazine and support all of the staff writers involved! There are so many eclectic voices present, and they all present a different perspective. It is truly beautiful.
