Meet Jigglyspot, a five-foot tall half human half warlock carnival clown who spends his free time moonlighting as a drug dealing pimp and lackey for demonic entities who prey on the weak and vulnerable, casting their dark shadow across humanity through manipulation, and fear.

PD Alleva is a master of creating unique horror stories that worm their way under your skin. Last year, I read his novel Golem: The Devil is in the Details, and I was blown away. When I was notified that he was releasing a new novel with a killer clown at the forefront, I couldn’t have been more excited. I am slightly obsessed with clown horror, and finding a book that also throws in carnivals and cannibals was a dream come true. Call me crazy, but I like what I like!

The beauty of Jigglyspot and the Zero Intellect is that it reads like a more brutal Grady Hendrix novel. It is goofy and extreme in all of the best ways. Alleva takes classic clown horror and turns it on its head by giving us Jigglyspot, a half human half warlock clown who also happens to be a drug dealing pimp. Jigglyspot is hilarious and relentless, and he is a horror character who will stick with you for a long time. The book borders on extreme horror blended with fantasy and comedy, making it one heck of a thrill ride. It is the ultimate spooky season read for clown horror enthusiasts, and I firmly believe that it should be a horror classic. It is one of the most original takes on clown horror that I have ever read, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Jigglyspot is one horror character I will be revisiting again and again.
