Tell Me More
Horror short stories are always a delight. I was excited to pick up The Box by Scott J. Couturier when I learned of how varied the stories inside are, and I was not disappointed! Rarely do I find horror anthologies that include stories that cross the horror genre and don’t stay in one subgenre, but The Box did just that. Ranging from extreme horror to gothic horror, each short story featured a different theme. The variety was effortless.
Each story in the anthology is very short, which leaves much to the imagination for the reader. I found that many of the stories left on a cliffhanger, which made my imagination run wild. I didn’t know what to expect from one story to the next, and it felt like a true menagerie of horror that will appeal to various horror lovers.
If you enjoy horror short stories, especially anthologies that are varied in their offerings, you are going to love The Box. My one criticism was that I had hoped that the stories would be more extreme, but the anthology will appeal to readers who prefer horror that is more classic rather than extreme. Try this collection out! You won’t be disappointed.
