Enantiodromia: Collected Stories by Mike X. Welch is an eclectic collection of horror that spans space and time, reminiscent of The Twilight Zone. Each story brought something new to the table, and I am still dwelling on the dark themes in each of the stories. Tell Me More

Horror short story collections are one of my favorite forms of horror. There is something truly magnificent about a well-done horror short story, and Enantiodromia: Collected Stories by Mike X. Welch features some excellent examples of impactful horror short stories. With intense, dark themes, each story in Welch’s collection is reminiscent of a The Twilight Zone episode. I was mesmerized by how different each story was from the next, which makes this collection perfect for fans of all different forms of horror.

My favorite short story from the collection was You Might Get It – a story about a man’s deceased wife who comes back home. The story was extremely haunting, and I am still thinking about it. It is vastly different from the other stories in the collection, and I appreciated how eclectic each story was.

Welch’s writing is simple and not over the top, which allows for the reader to use their imagination to fill in the gaps of each story. Allowing the reader to use their emotions and imagination allows them to become a part of the story, and I thoroughly admired this technique that Welch used.

Horror fans looking for a quick and varied collection of short stories are sure to find enjoyment in Enantiodromia: Collected Stories by Mike X. Welch. It is a quick read, but in no way does that mean that it is not impactful. Each story will make you question your reality in the best way possible.
